    Buying Guide

    Flavours

You will see a lot of meat and fish-based flavours, just as with dry food.

There may be a preference for your cat – they may not touch fish flavours, but love chicken. The flavour of wet food will be significantly more than with dry food (opening the pouch will probably let you know this via the much stronger smell!).

So, it is best to get it right to ensure they eat it. If you aren’t sure, or they are pretty fussy about everything, try buying food which is a mix of different meat sources which should tone down the flavours a bit.

    Capacity

Wet food is cheaper to buy, and is also easier to buy in bulk. You can buy pouches, cans or sachets as singles or in boxes of 6-30+.

Buying in bulk is great for anyone who has space to bulk buy and store, has multiple cats or who runs a cattery service.

    Other Buyers Ask...

    Does wet food stay fresh?

In most cases, you will use the whole pouch or tin in one serving. But, you may be feeding in smaller portions or with dried food, in which case the wet food will need to stay fresh.

If this will be the case, opt for a tin or container which can go in the fridge as opposed to a pouch.

Why won’t my cat eat wet food?

Some simply don’t like it! If they are used to dry food, or just bits of meat, the switch to wet could be odd for them.

You should never just make a straight switch, but it is worth introducing it slowly if you do want to start incorporating some wet food into their diet.
