Clutches Nest of eggs
Gestation Length of time that female is pregnant
Incubation Time taken for eggs to hatch.
Litter Number of babies born
Maturity The age when the animal is able to produce young.
Oestrus When the female comes into heat, and will attract a male for mating.
Ovulation When the female is able to become pregnant
Parasites Very small or microscopic live forms that live on or in other animals. Can be passed from animal to animal by fleas, food or contact.
Rest Period The length of time between giving birth and being able to become pregnant again.
Weaning Age that young are able to fend for themselves.
